2020, Italy / Cuba
director: Marzia Rumi
production: Pin Up Filmaking
56 mins, feature documentary
Three Cubans converted to Islam are experiencing a new revolution that starts with personal choices but involves all strata of society: Abdul, Chaana and Ahmed are some of the thousands of Cubans who have decided to convert to Islam.
Through the observation of their daily life between work, prayer and family, the spiritual and social dimension of three lives is shown whose religious choice represents not only an existential redemption but also leads them to share the public space of worship of the Old Havana mosque , built four years ago by Saudi Arabia, around which the entire Muslim community revolves.
